F37 Bolton

Inspired by Günter Gerhard Lange’s stripped-back Schoolbook typeface, F37 Bolton’s distinctive characters are flat, perfectly horizontal ascenders and descenders. This is an unusual approach, but it underpins F37 Bolton’s uncompromising simplicity.

In our 2020 update of F37 Bolton we pushed the design to its extremes by adding an ExtraBold and SuperBold weight. We also pushed the italics to 16° of slant which is accessible in the variable typeface, while the static fonts italic is set at a more conservative 12° slant.
